Department of Sharir comprises about structure and function of the human body. As the human body is made up of two manas - Sharir and Sthule Sharir and both are site of disease, so it is very essential to know about human body itself. Knowing body itself. Knowing this is very first step in world of medical science. Sharir has two branches:-- Sharir Kriya (Physiology)
- Sharir Rachna (Anatomy)
Department Of Kriya Sarir (Physiology)
Ayurveda, Science of life deals with all aspects related to physical, social, psychological & spiritual facets of human life.
- The “Kriya Sarir” deals with study of the normal functions of body during rest and activity. The whole purpose of Kriya Sarir is to explore the normal functions of the living organism, their principles, their mechanism & their actions.
- The Department is headed by Dr.N.S.Tripathi, M.D.(Ayu), Lucknow. The Department is fully equipped with latest equipments. The Department has its own laboratory where different tests are performed.
- Study of compound microscope, TLC, DLC, Bleeding time, Clotting time, Hb%, ESR, Blood group, Blood pressure through Sphygnomanometer.
- According to Ayurveda, every individual is a unique entity. For knowing this uniqueness of every individual is the study of constitution of Body & mind which is called Prakriti Parikshan i.e. analysis of body mind type of person.
- Different performas are made by students to learn the importance of: i) Prakriti parikshan; ii) Saar parikshan and iii) Bal Parikshan.
Department of Rachna Sharir
Rachna means 'structure', Sharir mean 'human body' i.e. Branch of Ayurveda comprising structure of human body is called Rachna Sharir.

It is the most authentic division of body because above 6 parts involve major groups of internal structures of human body. Branch has also knowledge about essential structures like bones, muscles, blood vessels and major channels (i.e. strotas). Sharir also comprises of very imprortant structures called marinas (Sensitive organs of body, injury to those can cause death or permanent deformity. Sushrut the father of Indian Surgery has best elaborated about anatomy in his text Sushrut Samhita. Our facts about human body is based upon it.
Department is running since College had started. Now Department is under supervision of Dr. Vijay Garg (B.A.M.S.). Departmental activities are:-
- To give knowledge about External and Structures of human body by the theoretical & practical classes.
- Theoretical classes include regular lectures about subjects.
- Practical classes include - i) Bone study by skeleton, ii) Organ study by dummy and models.
- Disection of human body is done regularly in Department for the comprehensive knowledge of human body.
